Yes, your homepage usually has a ton of authority.

But in general, homepages are a huge pain in the butt to rank. Homepages don’t have a ton of content.

(And when they do it’s content aimed at selling).

In short, homepages usually aren’t the type of pages that Google wants to show their users.
